The demolition of a building next to the Sumter County Administration building will require short-term traffic adjustments.
Please avoid North Harvin Street between East Hampton Avenue and East Calhoun Street if possible as there will be two lanes of traffic on a temporary basis. A renovation of the Administration building is underway and the first step in the process is the demolition and debris removal of an old two-story building.
East Canal Street between North Main and North Harvin is also closed to ensure the safety of pedestrians and motorists.
The Sumter County Judicial Center and Sumter County Administration are both open for normal business hours.
As a reminder, the Auditor and Treasurer’s offices have been relocated to the old Item building, now known as Magnolia Place, and located at 20 North Magnolia Street.
