What does it mean for me?

Distribution of Funds - Each year Washington allocates almost $300 billion to State and Local Governments based on the information gathered during the Census.
- if you don't get counted your community doesn't get the Federal Funding it is due.
Redistricting and Reapportioning - Political Representation and the redrawing of political districts are based on the number of people in an area according to Census figures.
- If you don't get counted you won't be represented in Congress.
Community Programs and Services - The Census provides key data that supports decisions on where to invest money for transportation, schools, healthcare, job training, daycare and public safety.
- if you don't get counted you may not get the proper services you need.
Business investment - Businesses use Census figures to decide where to build new restaurants, shopping centers, factories and office buildings.
if you don't get counted businesses won't bring jobs to where you live.
