Special Operations Division

The Special Operations Division encompasses several areas of service. It includes the Codes Enforcement Unit, Animal Control, Crime Prevention, School Resource Officers, and Training.

Probably the most diverse division in our office, Special Operations covers a broad spectrum of responsibilities. This division has the responsibility to keep our deputies trained, work within neighborhoods and businesses to educate them on crime trends and prevention, and to try and bring up the quality of life in Sumter County by enforcing code violations and rounding up stray or vicious animals   

The unit is led by Capt Frank Thompson, a 25? year veteran of the agency
