Patrol Districts

The map below indicates the 10 patrol districts that Sumter County is divided into for our deployment. When we assign  deputies to patrol, we try to keep the in one district. We do this so that they become familiar with an area, meet its people and businesses, and develop a working knowledge of that district so that they can quickly recognize patterns that aren’t normal for the area. It also gives them the opportunity to build relationships within each community and increase communications between law enforcement and the Sumter community.
