The South Carolina Sex Offender Registry was established in 1999? to keep track of convicted sex offenders and make that information available to the public. In South Carolina, each county’s Sheriff’s Office has the responsibility to maintain and update these records for their entire county.
We have one full time person that actively makes contact with registered sex offenders, performs random home visits, updates records, and coordinates with SLED and other agencies to track these offenders.
You may search the SLED Sex Offender Registry for Sumter County, or any other county in South Carolina, by clicking here.
If you have any questions or concerns about the sex offender registry, please email Deputy Cleveland Pinkney or call him at 803-774-3857.
