Step inside the Sumter County Library at 111 North Harvin Street, and you have the opportunity to learn something about almost anything and then a little more. Step outside the library walls and walk towards the Sumter County Family Court building. Take a look at the Vietnam and Holocaust Memorials. At this point another type of learning begins, perhaps an emotional learning experience. The Tyl Trail Historical Route provides plenty of opportunities to learn through our senses, as there are numerous other memorials on this path. All of them represent a time in the history of our city, state and nation that are too important to forget. After completing this walk, your view of life in Sumter County may take a new appreciation.
