The new Stamey Livestock Road Convenience/Recycling Center, located at 1980 Stamey Livestock Road, will open on Monday, 12 November 2012. This site is located approximately 1/2 mile from the intersection of Broad Street Extension and Stamey Livestock Road. Just a reminder that all County Convenience/Recycling Centers are for residential use only. Items accepted at all county sites: household garbage, white goods, brown goods, plastic, aluminum cans, glass.
The Stamey Livestock Road Convenience/Recycling Center, located at 2680 Stamey Livestock Road, was closed on October 1, 2012. This site will be relocated to 1980 Stamey Livestock Road and was expected to open on October 15, 2012. Due to circumstances beyond our control, the opening date has been delayed. We expect to open the new center within the next 30 days. Please check back often for updates.
Residents can now recycle fluorescent bulbs at all Sumter County Recycling Centers. Bulbs accepted include the 4-foot and 8-foot “tubes” along with the newer compact fluorescent bulbs (CFLs). You must give your bulb(s) to the attendant on duty at the recycling center. The bulb(s) will be placed by the attendant in a lined box and shipped to an approve facility for recycling.

What are the hours of operation for the recycling centers? The hours of operation are as follows: 7:00 am – 7:00 pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 1:30 pm – 7:00 pm on Sunday. The recycling centers are closed on Tuesday and Thursday.
Who can use the recycling centers? Only residents of Sumter are allowed to use the recycling centers. No commercial or business entities allowed.
I live within the city limits of Sumter. Can I use the county recycling centers? Yes.
