No Democratic runoff in this Precinct, Republican runoff slated for June 26 New!


The Sumter County Voter Registration & Elections office would like to remind folks that if you voted in the Democratic primary on June 12, there are no runoffs to vote in on June 26. If you voted in the Republican primary last week, you are eligible to vote in the June 26 runoff. And, if you did not vote in either primary on June 12, you may vote in the Republican runoff on June 26.

Also, in-house absentee voting is now underway at the Voter Registration & Elections office located in the Sumter County Courthouse at 141 North Main Street.

Under occasional supervision, performs various accounting and clerical duties to help ensure the proper recording, balancing and reporting of County accounts. Collects real and personal property taxes and provides professional customer service to taxpayers. Prepares receipts. Suspends vehicle registrations for non-payment of taxes; withdraws suspensions as appropriate. Balances cash drawer at the end of each day. Receives and responds to public inquiries regarding taxes due. Performs computer data entry to record and retrieve various information.

On June 12, 2018, Sumter County Council approved the third and final reading for Fiscal Year 2018-2019 Budget Ordinance.  This year’s budget proposal was balanced at $52,752,483 revenues and expenditures with “NO TAX INCREASE.”
