Timothy Adams receives J.P. Strom Award

Recognition of Deputy Timothy Adams who received the J.P. Strom Award, which is the highest and most prestigious award given to a graduate of the S.C. Criminal Justice Academy.   Deputy Adams obtained the highest academic average throughout the 12-week Basic Law Enforcement Certification program at the Academy.  This award is only awarded to one student in each class.  This is only the second time since 1988 an officer from Sumter has been given such an award.

We have a budget!

We have a budget!


After three long months of meetings, some with staff, others with County Council and staff which includes extra budget workshops, we now have an approved balanced budget for Sumter County operations.  County Council at its regular meeting scheduled on June 13, 2017, approved third and final reading for Sumter County Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget Ordinance #17-866 with revenues and expenditures in the General Fund of $51,394,154.
