County Council Meeting February 11, 2014

The regularly scheduled meeting of Sumter County Council for Tuesday February 11, 2014, will be held as scheduled.  Should the weather change drastically between now and the time of Council’s meeting, the Chairman will make a determination whether or not to cancel the meeting.

2013 Delinquent Tax Sale POSTPONED

Due to the Winter Storm Watch in effect for the midlands  the Delinquent Tax Sale scheduled for Wednesday, February 12th , has been postponed until Wednesday, February 19th at 10:00am.

Highlights: The Sumter County Gallery of Art opens the New Year with two special exhibitions: The 36th annual “South Carolina Watermedia Society Traveling Exhibition” and the “Sumter Artists’ Guild Winners Show”. The South Carolina Watermedia Society (SCWS) is the largest statewide visual arts guild with a mission to promote South Carolina artists by providing exhibition opportunities and educational programs. The 2013 SCWS show is an especially vibrant one.

We have a budget!

We have a budget!


After three long months of meetings, some with staff, others with County Council and staff which includes extra budget workshops, we now have an approved balanced budget for Sumter County operations.  County Council at its regular meeting scheduled on June 13, 2017, approved third and final reading for Sumter County Fiscal Year 2017-2018 Budget Ordinance #17-866 with revenues and expenditures in the General Fund of $51,394,154.
